Privacy Policy

Everyday ChildSafe respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It covers this website and the Everyday ChildSafe Check at check.everydaychildsafe.com.au

Who we are
Everyday ChildSafe is a child safety advisory practice operating in Victoria, Australia. You can contact us at brooke@everydaychildsafe.com.au.

What we collect
If you use the contact form on this website, we collect your name, your email address, and whatever you choose to tell us in your message. When you use the Everyday ChildSafe Check your answers stay in your browser while you work through them. If you choose to send your results to us, we receive your organisation's name, your email address, and your answers. If you don't send them, we don't receive anything. If we're working with you, we may set you up with an assessment or action plan tool. These tools store what you enter, including your organisation's name, your ratings against the Child Safe Standards, evidence notes, and the actions you plan. We use this information to support our work with you and for nothing else. We don't run website analytics and we don't track your browsing. Squarespace sets basic cookies needed for the site to work. We don't add any of our own.

Why we collect it
To respond to your enquiry, to understand what your organisation needs, and to provide the services you ask us for. We don't use your information for anything else.

Who else sees it
Our websites and forms are hosted by Squarespace and Netlify. Form submissions are stored in their systems as well as our email, and both may store data on servers outside Australia, mostly in the United States. Our assessment tools store data with Supabase on servers in Sydney, so that information stays in Australia. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone else unless you ask us to or the law requires it.

How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and Check results for two years, then delete them. If you become a client, we keep records relating to our work together, including assessment tool data, for as long as we need them for that work. When our work ends, you can ask us to delete your assessment data and we will.

Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No online service can promise perfect security, but we limit who can access your information and we don't keep what we don't need.

Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email brooke@everydaychildsafe.com.au and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children
Our websites are for adults working in organisations that provide services to children. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page.
